Accounting Manager

As our Accounting Manager, you’ll work primarily with our Controllers and offshore team of accountants, assisting B Consulting clients with various accounting and business management activities. The Accounting Manager will play a crucial role in leading client engagements and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial transactions, preparing financial statements, and providing accurate data to support strategic decision-making. In this role, you'll need to manage and lead multiple client projects, directly manage our offshore team, and communicate fluidly with clients to support their requests while also supporting our controllers.

What you'll do:

 Perform a full cycle accounting close:

·      Produce timely and accurate monthly financial statements

·      Review and guide the offshore team's work

·      Lead client calls

·      Manage client budgets

·      Reconciliations, accrual and deferred journal entries

·      Update financial models and cash forecasts with actuals
 

Manage accounting and business activities:

·      Accounts Receivable (invoicing, collections)

·      Accounts Payable (processing bills, set up vendors)

·      Payroll and benefit clearing accounts reconciliations (401(k), medical, etc)

·      Insurance audits and renewals

·      Inventory (landed costs)

·      Sales tax management and compliance
 

Implement and use various software solutions:

·      Accounting ERPs (QuickBooks Online (QBO), Xero, Puzzle)

·      Expense management (Expensify, Ramp, Rho, Brex)

·      Billing (Bill.com, Ramp, Settle, Mercury Bill Pay)

·      HRIS/Payroll (Gusto, JustWorks, Rippling, Warp, Sequoia, Deel, RemotePeople, RemoFirst)

·      Sales platforms (Shopify, Amazon FBA, Walmart Seller Central)

·      Sales tax platform (Avalara, Numeral, TaxJar)

·      Equity management (Pulley, Carta, AngelList)

·      Merchant service platforms (Stripe, PayPal)

·      Inventory software (Cin7, Fishbowl, SOS, Zoho Inventory, and others)

Demonstrate a strong accounting background and knowledge of US GAAP:

·      Financial Statements Presentation

.      Prepaid/Accrued Expenses

·      Revenue Recognition

·      Deferred Revenue

·      Fixed Assets

.      Lease Accounting

·      Inventory, Manufacturing, Cost Accounting

·      Equity accounting (preferred/nice-to-have)
 

Assist with tax process and maintain compliance with government agencies:

·      Work with external partners to prepare annual federal and state income tax returns (C Corp, LLC, S Corp)

·      Annual State filings and Franchise Taxes

·      Local Business Registrations & Compliance

·      Sales and Use Tax

·      R&D Tax Credits

·      W9/1099
 

What you'll bring:

·      Bachelor’s Degree required

·      Concentration in Accounting or Finance preferred

·      7+ years of applicable experience

·      Strong knowledge of US GAAP, accounting theory, principles, and practices

·      Big 4 or national public accounting experience a plus

·      Strong Google Sheets skills (pivot tables, sum-if formulas, etc.)

·      Strong communication skills 

·      Strong time management skills

·      Aptitude to learn quickly on the fly (new systems, tools, and processes)
